How Do Ionizers Compare to HEPA Filters

When investigating air purifiers it is important to consider the various types available and the technologies they use. One of the more sophisticated and effective options is a purifier with a true HEPA filter. High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are able to efficiently filter the air, removing particles  0.3 microns or larger with a 99.97% effectiveness.

HEPA is a standard that is strictly monitored to ensure a true HEPA filter meets the necessary effectiveness giving you added peace of mind that the purifier will work well and deliver quality air that is free of most impurities and contaminants. HEPA air purifiers are extremely safe and highly effective.

Another option is a HEPA-type air filter. While they are not quite as effective as true HEPA filters, they will still eliminate particles that are 2 to 3 microns in size with an effectiveness of 95%.

This fact is confirmed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Any device that generates high levels of ozone should be avoided.
